Le Rocher Grand Casino Resort Review

Overall Score: 9.2 / 10 Reviewed August 2026 3-Night Stay

Perched above the Monte Carlo harbour, Le Rocher Grand is one of the most storied casino resorts on the Riviera. We spent three nights testing its gaming floor, table games pits, suites and service.

A Baccarat Salon Fit For The Riviera

The casino floor at Le Rocher Grand spans two levels beneath restored belle-époque ceilings. The table games selection leans classic: punto banco baccarat, European roulette, blackjack and a dedicated high-limit salon privé. Dealers are formally trained and multilingual, and the table games minimums are among the highest we've tested — expect €25 minimums on most tables, rising sharply in the private rooms.

Riviera Views, Old-World Detail

Our Harbour Suite featured hand-laid parquet, a marble bathroom and a private balcony overlooking the yacht basin. Rooms lean traditional rather than minimalist — heavy drapes, gilded mirrors — which suits the casino resort's overall character, though a handful of guests may find it dated compared with newer Asian casino resorts.

A Lounge Worth Lingering In

Beyond the casino, Le Rocher Grand's champagne lounge is a highlight — a beaded, curtained room with a live pianist most evenings. The property's flagship restaurant earned a Michelin nod this year, and the rooftop cigar terrace stays open late for players stepping away from the tables.

04 — Service & Loyalty Programme

Discreet, Attentive, Old-School

Staff anticipate requests before you ask — a hallmark of European casino resort service. The loyalty programme rewards table games play generously, with complimentary suite upgrades kicking in after modest turnover. Check-in for loyalty members took under four minutes during our stay.

Our Verdict

Is Le Rocher Grand Worth Booking?

9.2 / 10

Le Rocher Grand remains the benchmark for a traditional European casino resort. If you value a serious table games floor, formal service and Riviera glamour over resort-style spectacle, this is one of the best casino hotels we've reviewed this year.

  • Exceptional table games variety and high limits
  • Michelin-recognised dining
  • Attentive, old-school service culture

Considerations

  • Room décor feels traditional, not minimalist
  • High table minimums outside main floor
